if you have ever had trouble finding a stylish yet comfortable and light pair of rain boots, look no further.

these aint your old chucks…
this was marc jacob’s first spring show since his departure as creative director of louis vuitton last fall. he left to devote more time and focus on his own label and i was looking forward to see what he had done with no distractions but his own label to occupy his time, and he did not disappoint.
the collection definitely was military inspired with uniforms in mind filled with embellished details. the colors were simple yet beautiful, with fatigue greens. muted teals and blues, along with shades of beige. it was a collection that had a hint of masculinity that balanced well with a heavy dose of femininity. seemed like each piece was uniformed but possessed its own characteristic that allowed it to stand out on its own.
this collection was marc jacobs commentary on culture today, as he said after the show "In the quest for individuality, people start fitting into these flocks and looking the same."
no one has elevated the realm of american sportswear like ralph lauren has for the past 40 years. this collection showed us american sportswear is his domain and he can do whatever he damn well pleases.
filled with fitted cargo pants, chiffons, blacks, bright oranges, yellows, fuchsias, and a majority of olive. one can only describe his spring 2015 collection as haute safari gear for the jungles of the hamptons with a creative approach to evening wear. ralph lauren has elevated american sportswear to a refined elegance once again.
we all have our favorite designers and fashion industry insiders that we look up to and admire.
heres a special moment captured behind the scenes before the public school show as designer and co-founder dao-yi chow spends time talking and bonding with his son.
sometimes we see them in a different light or we place them on a pedestal and we tend to forget that they are people just like you and me…
classic american feel with a modern casual approach. not many labels do it as well as jcrew. and their spring 2015 collection is no different.
with their focus on whites, indigos, and fun quirky prints jcrew has delivered a fun casual collection once again with oversized jackets and mix and match pieces that somehow just works. jcrew has never wowed me but most importantly they have also never disappointed me, jenna lyons, creative director and frank muytjens, menswear director have done an excellent job in steering this ship in line, creating clothes that people just want to wear. it just works and sometimes thats all that really matters. keep it simple…
twin brothers shimon and ariel ovadia, designers and co-founders of ovadia & sons started their label with the idea of providing a younger generation with the staples of classic tailored menswear and they have continued to do so with their spring 2015 collection.
with a collection full of tailored suits, jackets, and knits, the ovadia brothers have provided a fresh modern look to the classic tailored staples thats supposed to be in every well dressed mans closet. while keeping with tradition they also set out to push the boundaries of menswear.
i myself am a fan of ovadia & sons and i look forward to future collections from these two.
